No files listed for the hard drive due to the files were deleted.
Cause:
Files were deleted from the hard drive.
Solution:
Recover the files from the 'Recycle Bin' or use the UNDELETE command in a DOS window.
NOTE: Not all deleted files can be recovered.
1) Double-click the 'Recycle Bin' icon on the desktop. (The 'Recycle Bin' window appears.)

2) Select the deleted file(s) in the 'Recycle Bin' list box, select the 'File' menu, and select 'Restore'.
NOTE: If the files were deleted at the DOS command prompt, the files will not appear in the 'Recycle Bin'. Use steps 3) through 10) to recover files deleted at the DOS command prompt.
3) Restart Windows in DOS mode.
4) If the files were deleted from another drive, type the drive letter followed by a colon (i.e. to change to 'C' drive 'C:') and press ENTER.
5) If necessary, type 'CD\' followed by the name of the directory where the deleted files are located and press ENTER.
6) Type the following at the DOS prompt and press ENTER:
UNDELETE
NOTE 1: The following is an example of a message that appears on the screen when a file cannot be recovered using DOS UNDELETE:
File Specifications: *.*
Delete Sentry control file not found.
Deletion-tracking file not found.
MS-DOS directory contains 10 deleted files.
Of those, 7 files may be recovered.

NOTE 2: The following is an example of a message that appears on the screen when a file can successfully be undeleted using DOS UNDELETE:

Of those, 7 files may be recovered.
Using the MS-DOS directory method.

7) If the file listed is cannot be recovered, press any key to move to the next available deleted file.
8) If a file can be recovered, 'Undelete (Y/N)' message will appear, press 'Y', and the type the first character for the deleted file to recover file.
NOTE: When a file is deleted by the DOS DEL command, the DEL command replaces the first character of the file name with a '?' indicating that the file has been deleted but does not physically remove the deleted file from the diskette. The UNDELETE command simply removes the '?' and prompts the user for a character to replace the '?' with.
9) If the message 'Windows has disabled direct access to protect your long filenames, To override this protection, see the LOCK /? command for more information, type LOCK 'A:' and press enter to enable direct disk access to the 'A' drive, and then repeat steps 3) through 8).
NOTE: Step 8) may have caused the computer to lock up. If so, reboot the computer and start in DOS mode and then execute step 9).
10) Repeat step 8) until all of the files that can be recovered have been recovered.
